"After an extensive investigation of
career resources, we purchased the "Tuning In To My Future" series for
our local school partners. The series includes helpful information for
students, parents and teachers and builds skills and competencies. The
author uses a variety of techniques to present the information which reinforces
different learning styles. Without question, "Tuning In To My Future"
has won the endorsement of our local partners and is used extensively
across the region."

Tuning In To My Future is a career
exploration and education planning workbook and CD program specifically
designed to help guide junior high or early high school students toward
fulfilling futures. Created by guidance counselors, teachers and independent
research, the program's goal is to provided the needed resources to help
teens — whatever their skills or interests — become more knowledgeable
about the new world of work and their role in that world. |
|
| Tuning In begins by
helping teens uncover their personality traits, interests, work values and
skills. From there, students learn about compatible career directions and
the training and educational requirements of each area. By understanding
more about themselves and the pathways to compatible occupations, teens
will be able to take an active role in a future of choice — rather by chance.

"Many young adults enter
the job market before realizing the long term impact of their choice.
Some stay in the line of work they begin with — even though it may be
out of touch with their best talents. They may or may not be successful,
but many are very unhappy with their jobs. PrepWorks and its activities
can help prevent a child from landing in a job by default, by helping
the child "tune in" to his or her true interests and skills, giving the
child a greater chance of gaining a fulfilling career experience."
